Yova Raevska – The voice of clay
National Ethnology Museum Sofia
Together with designer Koen Koevoets (Koen&Co) I worked on the realization of the exhibition “The voice of clay”, a tribute to Yova Raevska to mark the 100th birth anniversary of this artist.
We came up with the idea of large tables in a concrete-like material to give the ceramic pieces a solid stage in the theatrical rooms of the National Ethnology Museum in Sofia – Bulgaria.
Yova Raevska was one of the most prominent artists of ceramics in Bulgaria during the 20th century. For more than 60 years, she relentlessly explored the field of decorative applied arts, employing creative and original approaches which resulted in a legacy of bold and unique pieces. - Yova regularly participated in exhibitions in Bulgaria as well as abroad and received many awards and high recognition for her work.
